State Policy

Most tenant – landlord issues are governed by state law.  This includes court rulings as well as state statutes, most of which are in Minnesota Statutes Chapters 327C & 504B).  The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office provides a handbook with plain-spoken language describing these laws.
.
The State of Minnesota also provides some assistance to low-income renters and people experiencing homelessness.
